Last Call for FREE Battle of the Boulevard Registration for Pacer Subcribers -- Eight Registrations Remain to Be Claimed!

Last week, we sent the following information about a special Neighborhood Day/Battle of the Boulevard offer for WALKArlington Pacer subscribers.  As of today, 17 Pacer subscribers have taken advantage of free registration for the inaugural Battle of the Boulevard 2K walk. With four days to go until event day (Saturday, May 12), eight free registrations remain to be claimed by Pacer subscribers. If you're interested, read on and contact us today!

WALKArlington Pacer subscribers are invited to join friends, neighbors, and fellow walkers at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, to kick off a new Arlington Neighborhood Day event -- the first-ever Battle of the Boulevard. In keeping with this year's Neighborhood Day theme, "Neighborhoods Green and Fit," Battle of the Boulevard includes a 2K Walk, a 10K Run, and a Neighborhood & Wellness Fest, all of which begin and end in Clarendon (at Wilson Boulevard and Highland Street). More than 4,000 people are expected to participate.

But one thing sets you apart from those 3,999 other participants... you are a subscriber to the WALKArlington Pacer. And because WALKArlington is a sponsor of this exciting new Neighborhood Day event, subscribers to the WALKArlington Pacer receive certain privileges...in this case, FREE registration for the 2K Walk!  That's right.  The first 25 Pacer subscribers to respond to WALKArlington's exclusive offer will receive free registration for the inaugural Battle of the Boulevard 2K Walk, a savings of $15 per registrant!

Just send an e-mail message to both mark@eventaxis.com and lhassel@arlingtonva.us with the subject line "WALKArlington PACER Registrant."  Include your name, e-mail address, and phone number in the e-mail message and we will contact you to complete your registration. Remember, only the first 25 respondents will receive free registration, so act now!

Please note: the deadline to reply/register is FRIDAY, MAY 11!

Neighborhoods Green and Fit ... and Perfect for Walking

Join the 2007 Arlington County Neighborhood Day celebration this Saturday, May 12!  Whether you want to Walk for the Animals in Bluemont Park, hit the pavement at Battle of the Boulevard, or join the Neighborhood Day Parade, there's something for everyone at this year's Neighborhood Day celebration.

The theme of the 2007 Arlington County Neighborhood Day is "Neighborhoods Green and Fit"! You can plan your day by reviewing all the activities and events on the Neighborhood Day web page.

And on Saturday, look for WALKArlington first thing in the morning at the Battle of the Boulevard, where we'll have an exhibit and a select group of Pacer subscribers setting the pace in the 2K walk. Then, at 2:00 p.m., be on the look-out for more WALKArlington walkers as our parade contingent makes its way along the Neighborhood Day Parade route, handing out our brand new WALKArlington Walkabouts brochures and walker-friendly goodies along the way!  Thanks to families and staff of the Clarendon Child Care Center for lacing up their walking shoes to join us!

Hope to see you out and about on May 12! Highlights from Neighborhood Day will be featured in the next issue of the Pacer.
